Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coding Specialist II to perform
intermediate coding activities in compliance with medical coding
guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate and timely coding and abstracting of accounts
using ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT guidelines
Resolve front-end charge review edits while maintaining
productivity and quality standards
Assist in training and mentoring lower-level coding employees and
promote a culture of continuous learning and teamwork
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
3 years of professional coding experience or equivalent
education
Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified
Medical Coder (CMC), Registered Health Information Technician
(RHIT), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and
disease processes
Knowledge of coding guidelines and teaching physician documentation
guidelines
